  • Support for clinical Pharmacist Services in ED The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) believes that pharmacists serve a critical role in ensuring efficient, safe, and effective medication use in the emergency department (ED). The organization advocates for health systems to support dedicated roles for pharmacists within the ED.  See the statement of support approved by the ACEP Board of Directors June 2015.
  • NCPDP Team Continues EDvocacy Effort

    NCPDP leaders were in Washington D.C. this week meeting with policymakers to discuss key topics and increase awareness of NCPDP as a problem solving resource for addressing national healthcare challenges. The visit is part of NCPDP’s EDvocacy initiative, which focuses on sharing NCPDP’s knowledge and expertise in bringing healthcare stakeholders together in our forums to develop collaborative, consensus-based, sustainable industry solutions to business and patient safety challenges. In addition to meeting with ONDCP, the NCPDP team met with John M. Coster, Ph.D., R.Ph., Director, Division of Pharmacy, Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services, CMS, and visited with congressional representatives from both parties.
