At our 40th Anniversary Open House and Building Naming last month, The Magellan Cares Foundation, Inc., honored the legacy of NCPDP’s founders with a $5,000 donation to the NCPDP Foundation.
The donation will be matched dollar for dollar with matching funds approved by the Board of Trustees of NCPDP, increasing the donation to $10,000. The donation was presented to NCPDP Founder, Charles D. Pulido, R.Ph., and NCPDP Foundation President, Charlie Oltman, MBA, CHC.
Mara N. Mitchel, SVP, Strategic Operations, Magellan Rx Management, nominated the NCPDP Foundation to receive one of the Magellan Cares Foundation grants. “The timing couldn’t have been better,” explained Mitchel, “it is such an honor to present this donation on such a special evening.”
The NCPDP Foundation funds student pharmacist scholarships and research projects that drive better quality healthcare through the use of standards-based health information technology.
Launched in 2015, the Magellan Cares Foundation, Inc., is committed to national or large-scale health access and quality improvement initiatives; efforts that help to improve the social support around a quality healthcare system, such as access to housing, food, clothing or self-improvement opportunities; local efforts, including legacy initiatives supported by Magellan's employees; and efforts to support America's military service members, veterans and wounded warriors.
