NCPDP offers Educational Programs on various health care topics that are of interest to professionals in the pharmacy industry. These programs are hosted one day prior to the February and November Work Group Meetings. The topics of the 2009 Educational Programs were "Post Election: Did Anything Change?" and "Looking Ahead: Healthcare in the Next Decade". Other past topics have focused on e-Prescribing, Manufacturer Rebates, HIPAA Privacy and Product Identification.

Educational Program attendees represent the diverse factions of pharmacy, with a variety of attendance depending on the topic. The Educational Programs are of importance to PBMs, wholesalers, manufacturers, telecommunication vendors, health plans, government agencies, pharmacies, database management organizations, insurers and more.
