NCPDP will be presenting three sessions at Asembia’s 15th Annual Specialty Pharmacy Summit, April 29 - May 2 in Las Vegas, to support the work of NCPDP’s WG18 Specialty Pharmacy.
Each year, the Summit welcomes thousands of senior executives, key decision makers and other industry professionals to the nation's leading annual gathering for specialty pharmacy.
The first session introduces Summit attendees to NCPDP and how WG18 Specialty Pharmacy is improving speed to specialty therapy. The second session will cover Real-Time Benefit Check in improving medication adherence and outcomes.
The third session, “Best Practices for Automating REMS in Workflow,” will be presented by Pooja Babbrah, WG18 Co-Chair and PBM Practice Lead at Point-of-Care Partners, Shivani Patel, Senior Vice President Clinical Operations & Technology at Asembia, and Mark Sasala, Subject Matter Expert in Specialty Pharmacy Technology at Creehan & Company, an Inovalon Company. The session will examine NCPDP’s implementation guide for REMS Transactions for the Telecommunication Standard, that shows pharmacies how to electronically confirm that REMS requirements have been met so the pharmacy can dispense the medication. The presenters will review the new REMS transactions in the new version of SCRIPT and provide information on best practices for implementation.
